show offline users in their group and not in offline group

Description

Actually one may want to have the option to "hide offline contacts" in the offline group, which is the current behavior, so a new entry within the popup menu would be nice.

...having looked once again at Exodus, I think they have the right idea. They keep all users in the groups they are defined in, but then they have a toggle to Show/Hide offline users. So with a click you can limit your view to online users only for one task, but then if you need to select from offline users as well, just click the toggle button and they reappear.

It seems that to keep all parties happy, you would also have a third option to show all users in the Offline Users group.

and i still need users in groups to be sorted by name only and not by presence/name. Imagine finding someone in a 25 contacts group. You have to look in online list and then scroll to the offline.

A summary for wroot to make this issue more clear:
When "group offline contacts" is disabled all users are displayed in the group they belong to. Online and offline users are displayed in a group.

We need an option to "show/hide offline contacts" within a group without using the offline group. Spark should display only groups which contain online users and in these groups it should display only the online users.

Currently Offline group acts oddly (dissapears and then appears again). In my first message in this thread i have suggested to get rid of offline group for all, maybe. Maybe we should make a poll? Does anybody really need that offline group, is it useful? Maybe we should stick with a design which other clients use:

"Other clients just show all contacts in their groups and have an option to "Show only online contacts". Simple."
