Spark replaces certain text combinations with emoticons.
For example, this text gets replaced by a nice smiley emoticon:
With unicode, we now have characters that represent a smiley, such as this character:
Spark currently shows the smiley image for the first example, but will show an uglier text font character for the bottom example.
Where possible, Spark should display the same image for unicode smileys that correspond with 'plain text' smileys. Both examples above should be rendered the same, for example.
