Testing 4.8.0 Beta on macOS 14.1.1, the preferences pane no longer crashes.

It also doesn’t start Openfire, but it doesn’t crash.

I have modified the priority of this ticket, assignee and fix version to better denote that we have nobody working on this issue.  We would love if somebody in the community sent in a PR fixing this!

Hey @wroot, I have solved this issue on My Mac,  Openfire could be launched normally.

These are what I did on my Mac:

It is seemed that , those files that under openfire dir && subdir was not granted the write permission.

And the java_home variable in openfire.xml not be set with right value.

I have updated the post at:  https://discourse.igniterealtime.org/t/fail-to-start-openfire-4-3-0-on-macos-mojave-version-10-14-2/83863

By the way, @wroot you could run the Openfire via the script file openfire.sh which under the bin folder.

Then maybe it can be qualified as a Major, not Blocker. What is the command to launch it via cmd?

An interesting thing is, after I launch via command line. It could be launched.
