Pending contacts that are already in your list as you log in are placed in the offline group instead of in their proper initial groups. I can't get a picture that includes seeing that it's the offline group, but I assure you it is.
Seems to only affect "as you log in", add new users works dandy! And if they add you back in time, you'll never notice the offline group ism.
